It is reported that the body has six main categories of nutrition which it requires on a daily basis to build and maintain the healthy bodily functions.

These food and nutrition categories are carbohydrates, protein, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and water. It is suggested that with better nutrition in our bodies, our bodies can help alleviate many common diseases and their associated symptoms.

Research has shown that protein in the form of amino acids, is an essential nutrition to assist the body as it assists with producing new body protein and replacing damaged protein, which is reported to be lost during urination.

Food and nutrition in the form of minerals and vitamins is essential, however it is reported that too little or too much can cause symptoms such as goitre, scurvy, osteoporosis, weak immune system, disorders of cell metabolism, certain forms of cancer, symptoms of premature aging, and eating disorders.

Carbohydrates are recommended as an ideal source of nutrition and energy which is paramount to the body, however, a diet which contains too many carbohydrates can upset the body's sugar level balance, which is reported to then be responsible for varying energy levels and moods. This change to your recommended nutrition quantites can be responsible for making you feel irritated and tired. It is strongly recommended to balance the intakes of carbohydrates with protein as well as with a small amount of fat and fibre.

Food and nutrition in the form of essential fatty acids is also recommended and the body requires an appropriate balance of omega 3 and omega 6 which has been discovered is paramount to your health.

Water is a major component of our body mass and it is paramount to our body's nutrition. Without water nutrition, our blood pressure can rise, our heart can begin to malfunction and our kidneys can shut down. Research has shown that the human body can only survive a few days without water. It is recommended that on an averare basis, a person should aim to drink 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of water a day or drink to thirst.
